November comes and November goes...

I came across this lovely poem by Clyde Watson. Worthy of a share I thought as November draws to an end...

Goblin Shaman Drawing

Dug out the sketch pad and decided to do some pencil pushing as it's been a while. Seeming as I am yet to recover the old Queen's of Legends series that I started working on from my broken laptop, I've started on a good old fashioned pen and paper piece. I thought I'd share the progression of it taking shape.

What's it going to be you may wonder? Well, it will be a Goblin Shaman. I want to fill the whole space around him with other weird fantasy art characters, maybe trees with faces and gremlins, who knows how this will turn out?

Stage 1

Stage 2

That's as afar as I have got so far. Will come back and update when I've finished stage 3.

Pumpkin Carving

Well I'm off to a Beer Festival tomorrow night at Pied Bull in Chester which is actually a Meet the Brewer with Magic Rock Brewery. It should be a great laugh with lots of tasty beers. (Just don't let me drink pints of that Unhuman Cannonball again because it is lethal!)

Because of this, I've been in a manic rush to get some pumpkin carvings done ready for a friend's Halloween Party on Friday because it won't be a good idea to carve pumpkins whilst drunk.

Anyway, I've carved two this year (...and what! It's two for £3 in Tesco). One is a Disco Ball Pumpkin, the other is meant to be an abstract style face of a cat.

*Tip* - Don't use a knife when carving pumpkins. Use all kinds of sharp tools. It makes it much easier for creating neat lines. I'll let you into a secret, I actually used a sharp device that is used for ripping the core out of apples. See the list is endless. Get creative!

Party of the Dead - Birthday Piss up in a Brewery

Well, sticking with the tradition and following on from last years Birthday piss up in a brewery, I've done it again!

This time the theme moved on from last years Psychedelic Mad Hatters to a more Halloween inspired theme of Party of the Dead and it wasn't in Sandstone Brewery this year but the soon to be brand new Axiom Brewing located a couple of units down.

Lots of Illuminous glowy things!

I may have gone a bit OTT on decorations though, but it was Party of the Dead and I love Halloween so I may have got a bit carried away as I entered a creative trance.

I chose to have a cask of Salopian Brewery's mighty fine Oracle on hand pull, a zombie cake, glow sticks, disco ball and UV lamp (told you I got carried away) but it was fun and we managed to blow the brewery speakers by playing T1000 by Fear Factory LOUD! (Not so fun). Oh and in case you hadn't guessed it was fancy dress. I had great fun wearing the googley eyed goggles (Try saying that after 9 pints!)

Here's my cake my talented friend made (although being pissed at party we forgot to actually eat it):

Great night though. Already have a theme in mind for next years!

Sandstone Brewery: New Pumpclip - Citrine

New pump clip design for Sandstone Brewery. Their latest brew is called Citrine, I have tasted and it is one of the best yet in my opinion. An American Style IPA coming to a pub near you soon.

Progress so far: Queen of Fire

Here, we go with the start of the next T-shirt for 'Queen of Fire' ...

Update: 21/05/2013: I've been so busy the past few months with my full-time job, that I haven't really had a chance to crack on with this. Finally I got a bit more done tonight. Sorted the eyes out, bit of stenciling and made a start on the nose. Still lots to do. Here's how we're looking now:

Progress so far - Forest Fairy Queen

So I've started work on the next idea for my 'Queen's of Legend' series. Here's a peek at progress so far. Still lots to do. Been on this for a few hours  now so retiring for the night. I'll carry on over the weekend.

Update: 19/01/2013: Got quite a bit more done this evening. Almost finished, just a case of sorting out a bit more detail and adding some more leaves.

Update: 21/01/2013: Finally complete and mocked up onto a T-shirt.

Queen's of Legend T-shirt Range

Leading on from last week where I had produced a T-shirt design, I have now decided to try and create a themed range. I'm not sure how many this will be as of yet but I'm aiming for a minimum of five designs.

Once I have completed them all, I am planning on looking into the costs for having the T-shirts (and maybe spaghetti strapped tops) printed ready to sell either on here or over at my Facebook page.

The theme I am going for is of course inspired by fantasy art and I am going to name the series the 'Queen's of Legend' range. So last week was 'Queen of Dragons', the second instalment is 'The Butterfly Queen'.

Out of curiosity, how much would you pay for a T-shirt?
